A hospitable town rich in traditions, herbs, architectural and naturalistic beauties which has won the most prestigious awards certifying its excellences and its quality of life: Borghi più Belli d'Italia, Cittaslow, Bandiera Arancione of theTouring Club Italiano.

History, art and nature merge together in a perfect fusion rich in beauty and charms which date back to the Middle Ages. Its unmistakable outline which is dominated by three rocky peaks where the symbolic buildings of the town stand renders Brisighella unmistakable and unforgettable.

The Torre dell’Orologio (bell tower) has a nineteenth-century structure but a medieval basement and it dominates the first peak. The imposing and majestic fourteenth-century Rocca manfrediana stands on the second peak and it still has the characteristics of a medieval stronghold. Finally, on the third peak stands the Santuario della Madonna, an eighteenth-century small temple which was built to house the ancient image of the Madonna col Bambino in polychrome terracotta.

At the foot of the Torre dell’Orologio stands the village which winds in a maze of ancient streets, stretches of city walls and stairs carved in the chalk. Brisighella is mysterious during winter days and it is even more fascinating during summer evenings. In July, during the famous Medieval festivals, the old town is lit by torches and it is brightened up with open-air theatre shows, exhibitions, concerts, feasts and markets. An extraordinary experience is watching the historical parades in the old town streets starting from the picturesque via del Borgo. This is a twelfth-century covered street which is banked up and lit through half-arches of different width. It is also known as 'Via degli Asini'because it offered shelter to the animals of birocciai (the ancient carters).
