Nature: birdwatching in the heart of the Po Delta

The route starts in thevillageofSant’Alberto, a few kilometres north ofRavenna, at the NatuRaMuseum, an ornithological and natural sciences museum.
An independent visit to the Museum here is a must, to see a valuable ornithological collection and other exhibits.

Continuing on the bank of the River Reno, take the charming ferry on the River Po di Primaro (€0.50 one-way for pedestrians and cyclists) to reach the southern part of the picturesque Lagoons of Comacchio and the Boscoforte peninsula, a beautiful, unspoilt place, with a wide variety of habitats, both fresh and salt water areas, attracting a splendid and abundant selection of birdlife.
You can catch an electric minibus from here to Volta Scirocco, an oasis with wet meadows and reedbeds as its principal features.
