This Parishchurch stands beside the road that linked the area to the Via Emilia; the name “in decimo” (in the tenth) was to indicate the distance in miles from where the road began.

The church has two particular features, the “Bartolla”, a statue built into one of its walls, believed to be female but probably in fact representing the god Apollo, as well as a decorative feature that is common in Tuscany but very rare in the Po valley, namely multicoloured ceramics called “bacini” applied on the walls, in this case of Byzantine (12th C) manufacture.
